Liverpool Petik Kemenangan Atas Indonesia XI

Indonesia XI kembali gagal meraih hasil maksimal saat menghadapi klub Liga Primer Inggris yang berkunjung. Kali ini, skuat besutan Jacksen F. Tiago dikalahkan Liverpool dengan skor 2-0, melalui gol Philippe Coutinho dan Raheem Sterling.

Namun, mesk demikian, tampak peningkatan performa yang signifikan dari Indonesia daripada saat menghadapi Arsenal, di mana tim Merah Putih dihajar 7-0.

Babak Pertama

Indonesia mencoba memberi kejutan di awal pertandingan melalui penetrasi yang dilakukan oleh Titus Bonai, namun usaha tersebut berhasil digagalkan oleh Jose Enrique.

Perlahan Liverpool mulai berhasil menguasai permainan dan memberi tekanan kepada lini pertahanan Indonesia. The Reds akhirnya mampu mencetak gol ketika pertandingan menginjak menit kesepuluh.

Tertinggal satu gol membuat Indonesia mencoba tampil lebih agresif, skuat besutan Jacksen F. Tiago sempat memiliki peluang bagus untuk mencetak gol melalui tendangan bebas sedikit luar kotak penalti. Namun, sayang sontekan Titus Bonai ketika menerima umpan dari Bustomi masih belum mengarah ke gawang.

Tempo pertandingan berjalan dengan semakin cepa, Liverpool memperoleh peluang melalui tembakan keras Luis Alberto di menit ke-30 yang berakhir di mistar gawang. Satu menit kemudian, giliran Sergio van Dijk yang menunjukkan kualitasnya dengan melepas tembakan dari jarak yang cukup jauh, sayang peluang tersebut juga belum membuahkan hasil setelah Mignolet sukses menepisnya dengan gemilang.

Babak Kedua

Sterling akhirnya mampu menjebol gawang Kurnia Meiga, tiga menit jelang pertandingan usai. Tapi Ian menilai ada hikmah yang dipetik dari periode pelik musim lalu. Liverpool yang dipersiapkan selama pramusim ini, menurutnya, semakin membaik.

"Saya pikir kami sekarang lebih kuat dari musim lalu dengan masuknya beberapa rekrutan anyar, jadi ketika kami mendapati cedera, itu tidak akan melemahkan tim."

Skrtel Tak Mungkin Ikuti Benitez ke Napoli

Liverpool - Martin Skrtel dispekulasikan mengikuti jejak mantan manajernya, Rafael Benitez pindah ke Napoli di musim panas. Menolak isu tersebut, agen Skrtel mengatakan kliennya mungkin akan bertahan.

Pemain internasional Slovakia itu direkrut Benitez dari Zenit St. Petersburg ke Liverpool pada 2008. Musim ini, Skrtel sudah tampil sebanyak 33 kali di seluruh kompetisi namun performanya menurun drastis di paruh kedua musim.
